This dataset provides high-resolution energy consumption measurements of 5G Reduced Capability (RedCap) and Full Capability (FullCap) User Equipment (UE) collected during controlled 24-hour experimental campaigns in a real 5G Standalone (SA) network.
The dataset was generated using the Energy Measurement and Analysis Platform (EMAP), a monitoring and analytics framework designed to capture fine-grained energy telemetry from heterogeneous 5G network components and end-user devices.
The dataset contains 17 CSV files, including baseline measurements, RedCap UE measurements, and FullCap UE measurements acquired under different operational modes (ACTIVE and ECO) and traffic transmission periodicities (1, 5, 10, and 60 minutes).
The measurements can be used for:
- Energy consumption analysis of 5G devices
- RedCap versus FullCap performance comparison
- Battery lifetime estimation
- Energy-efficient IoT and machine learning research
- Evaluation of 5G and beyond energy-aware communication systems
A comprehensive README.md file is included in the repository to describe the dataset structure, experimental setup, measurement methodology, file organization, and usage guidelines. Additional metadata files, including a data dictionary are also provided to facilitate reproducibility and reuse.
This dataset accompanies the scientific publication:
"5G RedCap vs FullCap UEs: Energy Insights"
The dataset was produced within the framework of the 6G-VERSUS project, funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No. 101192633.
