Etudes

  • Ali KHALESI is currently a Post Doctoral Researcher in the communications systems department at EURECOM - Sophia Antipolis. He is now working on Multi-User Distributed Computing and Large Distributed Learning Systems, which intends to discover the fundamental limits  of Intensified Computational Task in a Distributed System and offer the optimal performance of the distributed competing systems for the current used cases. He is now funded by Huawei Technologies Chair Project in EURECOM.

  • In July 2024, Ali KHALESI successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled «The Multi-User Linearly-Decomposable Distributed Computing» at Eurecom Institute. The Jury members composed of Pr Petros Elia (The Adviser), Pr Konstantin Avrachenkov, Pr Michèle Wigger, Pr Giuseppe Caire, Pr Derya Malak, Pr Sundar Rajan, Pr Daniela Tuninetti unanimously decided to Award him a doctorate from Sorbonne University. In his PhD efforts, he utilized tools from coding theory, in particular covering codes and perfect codes literature, compressed sensing, sparse and fixed support matrix decomposition, large random matrix theory, tiling and tessellation theory in combinatorics to characterize the fundamental trade-off between computation, communication and accuracy of a multi-user distributed-computing system and offer novel practical solutions to the well-known industrial issues.

  • In 2020, Ali obtained his MSc's Degree in Communications Engineering - Cryptography & Secure Communications from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Sharif University of Technology (Second-Ranked Honor, GPA: 19/20). His research thesis entitled "Design and Analysis of Algorithms for Distributed Private Function Retrieval" was carried out in Information Systems and Security Lab (ISSL) under the supervision of Pr Mahtab Mirmohseni and Pr Mohammad-Ali Maddah-Ali. Characterization of the fundamental limits of Varieties of multi-user information retrieval systems was his achievement in that project.

  • In 2018, he obtained his Bsc's Degree in Electrical Engineering-Communications System from K.N.Toosi University of Technology (First Ranked Honor Among All 121 Electrical Engineer Students entered in 2014, GPA: 19.16/20). His Bachelor's thesis entitled "Investigation and Simulation of Applications of LDPC Codes in The Gaussian Wiretap Channel" under Pr Bahareh Akhbari's supervision.
